In pondering on what to share with you, my mind kept going back to a couple of thoughts. The first comes from something that has stuck with me

Holland in his classic talk Lessons from Liberty Jail-”Man’s extremity is God’s opportunity.”
As we are challenged, sometimes even to a point where we feel overwhelmed that space becomes the sacred ground for us to “stand still, with the utmost assurance, to see the salvation of God, and for His arm to be revealed.”
Nothing highlights the gospel truth that God is with us and blesses us in our trials like the Old Testament. I am excited for the chance to deepen my faith and testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ through our study of the Old Testament this year. In pondering my remarks to you tonight, one story in particular kept coming to my mind. That is the story of Gideon.
Gideon is a classic Old Testament example that teaches the essential lesson that the battles we face in this life are the Lord’s to fight for us. You might remember that from the Book of Judges, we see that Gideon has an impossible task. He is called by God to deliver Israel. He is facing two armies that looked as innumerable as the sands of the sea. Paraphrasing here, the Lord tells Gideon that he has too many soldiers and that if they won the upcoming battle people would be tempted to say “Mine own hand hath saved me.” As a witness that the Lord was with Gideon and that the battle was truly His, the Lord gives some very unique selection instructions for Gideon to whittle his numbers down from over 30,000 to just 300 soldiers.
With his 300 soldiers armed with only trumpets, empty pitchers, and lamps they were delivered from their enemy armies. How did this happen? In Judges 7:21 we read…
“And they stood every man in his place…”
This account is scriptural evidence of the truth that “with God, nothing shall be impossible”. These 300 brave soldiers won a remarkable victory against seemingly impossible odds by faithfully following instructions and by standing every man in his place.
So how do we do this work of “standing in our place”?

Con sus 300 soldados armados solo con trompetas, cántaros vacíos y lámparas, fueron librados de sus ejércitos enemigos. ¿Cómo pasó esto? En Jueces 7:21 leemos…
“Y se pusieron cada uno en su lugar…”
Este relato es evidencia bíblica de la verdad de que “para Dios, nada será imposible”. Estos 300 valientes soldados obtuvieron una notable victoria contra probabilidades aparentemente imposibles siguiendo fielmente las instrucciones y poniendo a cada hombre en su lugar.
Entonces, ¿cómo hacemos este trabajo de “estar en nuestro lugar”?
