What are the "booties" in your life?

We hope you have had a lovely and insightful General Conference weekend. You can rewatch the talks on https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/media/broadcasts?lang=eng.

As we continue to celebrate the building of a temple in our area we wanted to share another story from our stake related to temple attendance. We hope it inspires you!

We had the great opportunity to go to the Feather River Temple open house and show our kids how beautiful it is. We made the trip down, and when we went through, my daughter said that she felt “happy” and “peace.” To me that is the Spirit, that feeling of happiness and peace.

My other daughter did not like those booties. She got those booties on her feet and she thought those things were the most painful things; they were driving her crazy! We had a little moment where we were like, “OK you have to wear those booties, or we’re going to have to leave.” Those were basically the two options. So, she kind of muscled through and kept the booties on. But it made me think that there are always certain things that are preventing us from getting to the temple. And they’re specific, something that is going to be hard for you, but maybe not hard for someone else. And it’s different for each person. I think it’s good to try to identify the “bootie” that is driving you crazy. What’s keeping you from getting there? Is it time? Is it your schedule? Is it child care? And once you can identify that, then try to come up with a solution. I know our Father in Heaven loves us. I’m grateful for families, and I’m grateful for the focus of the

temple and how it helps strengthen our families.
