Service with a Smile

Friends of Redding Stake

Service Spotlight! Last week some sisters in our stake got together and built a dog run at the South Market Micro Shelter Community in Redding.

"Some people who are experiencing homelessness have a canine companion experiencing it with them. Understanding that a space for dogs to run would be important, someone donated a dog run for the Micro-shelter community. Our friend, Brianna mentioned they needed someone to assemble it. Marci and I texted some friends and we met to try and figure it out. It was fun! We met some incredible people who work daily to help the homeless population in our town. It inspired us and opened our eyes to new possibilities of becoming more involved in our community." -Becca Brubaker

Did you know you can go to JustServe.org to find opportunities to serve in your area? Right now in Redding there are several projects going- requests for youth mentors, digital volunteers, crocheted beanies, infant blankets, items needed for homeless shelters, etc. If you would like to serve or donate time, check out the website for more information!
