" A Special Visitor"

Here's this week's temple story!

Brother Phillips is involved in a business that supports home schooling. He has

associates in Arizona. In conjunction with a business meeting in Utah, Brother

Phillips arranged a tour of the Saratoga Springs Temple for this group from

Arizona, some of whom are not members of the Church.

As the group was touring the temple, Brother Phillips noticed that one of his

colleagues began to weep while they were at the baptismal font. Brother Phillips

described this man as having “a long beard and a man bun” and a self-described

“born again Christian.”

When the tour concluded and the group was outside the temple, Brother

Phillips inquired of his guest the feelings that caused him to weep in the

baptistry. The man responded that as an infant, his father had brought him home

from the hospital on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He characterized his father

as a hard-drinking biker who had no use for religion during his life.

While in the baptistry, he said he saw his deceased father and he heard his

father say to him “You need to do this for me. I have accepted the Savior.”

Brother Phillips arranged for the missionaries in Arizona to visit his friend upon

his return home.
